Calvin Harris And Avicii Are Amongst The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities

Forbes released their list of the World's Most Powerful Celebrities this week and both Calvin Harris and Avicii, arguably two of the biggest names in EDM right now, made the cut. The list is based on a number of things, including but not limited to earnings, social media buzz and cultural impact. With that in mind, it's pretty to see how both of the Swedish DJs ended up making it on.

Forbes released their list of the World’s Most Powerful Celebrities this week and both Calvin Harris and Avicii, arguably two of the biggest names in EDM right now, made the cut. The list is based on a number of things, including but not limited to earnings, social media buzz and cultural impact. The fact that Harris and Avicii are on Forbes’ list, which also includes names like Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James and Robert Downey Jr., definitely says something about the rise of dance music over the last couple of years and just how big it’s become.

While I would argue that there are a few other DJs who should be up on this list alongside Calvin Harris and Avicii, it’s hard to deny the fact that both of these young men have had a huge impact on the EDM scene. They’ve been absolutely instrumental in bringing dance music to the masses and increasing its global popularity. Of course, you can’t discount the impact that DJs like Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, deadmau5 and many more have had on EDM’s recent boom, but I think it’s fair to say that Avicii and Calvin Harris have probably seen the most mainstream success.

Regardless, the fact that Forbes is acknowledging these two in such a huge way is great to see and it definitely bodes well for the future of the industry.

Tell us, which DJs do you think deserve to be on Forbes’ list alongside Calvin Harris and Avicii? Sound off below!
