It’s understandable if you can’t stop yourself from spinning Carly Rae Jepsen’s recent Emotion Side B release, but it looks like the pop songstress is setting the gears in motion to come out with something brand new.

Jepsen hasn’t hid the fact that she’s been in the studio to create the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed record. Drawing influences from the likes of ABBA and The Bee Gees, Jepsen has said that the album is supposed to be “disco-inspired,” and if anyone can pull that off with ease, it’s her. But a recent collaborator might get the excitement brewing just a little bit more: Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff.

Antonoff, who is working on a new album of his own, posted an Instagram picture from the studio featuring Jepsen, alluding to the prospect of a joint collab between the two. They aren’t strangers when it comes to the studio, either, as Antonoff worked with Jepsen back in the Emotion sessions, but the songs never made the cut.

Additionally, Jepsen provided vocals on Bleachers’ “Shadow” for the all-female vocals re-imagine of his debut, Strange Desire. Given Antonoff’s history with pop band fun. and writing for artists like Taylor Swift and Sara Bareilles, it seems like working with Carly Rae Jepsen is a flawless business (and creative) decision, so let’s hope that songs from the session will eventually surface this time around.
