Unless you’ve spent the last month living under a rock, by now you’ve surely realized that The Chainsmokers have truly taken over mainstream music with their latest single “Closer” featuring Halsey. The duo’s newest offering has seen their conquest of pop music taken to new heights as they hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, while racking up impressive numbers on streaming services like YouTube and Spotify in just a matter of weeks.
While “Closer” is already an undeniably catchy tune, a recent video posted to Facebook by the boys appears to hint at a new remix or VIP edit of the song. The clip captures a performance as The Chainsmokers unleash “Closer” before a massive audience, but the last five seconds of its runtime seems to feature an as of yet unreleased remix that injects a healthy dose of festival ready energy into the mix.
It’s not much to go off, but all signs seem to point towards a harder edged rework of “Closer” that we’ll definitely be keeping an ear out for.
