Claptone Delivers A Killer Essential Mix For BBC Radio 1

Making his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix debut, Berlin-based producer Claptone delivers a two hour, house heavy set that is sure to be a frontrunner for Essential Mix of the year. Featuring exclusive remixes and specifically tailored edits, this is one Essential Mix that you won’t want to miss.

“In my Essential Mix, I show you where I come from and I also show you where I’ll go,” Claptone says to open the show. “You’ll find lots of new, different and exclusive versions of Claptone music which has been tailored for this occasion. It’s not your usual DJ mix, nor is it what I play in the clubs. My Essential Mix is much more.”

And boy, is he right. With a track selection ranging from The White Stripes and The Police to James Brown and Daft Punk, the mysterious German producer displays his extensive musical knowledge in a unique blend of rock and funk classics to deep house favorites. Playing the Main Stage at Mysteryland USA this Memorial Day Weekend, Claptone should be on everyone’s “must see” list.

For those unfamiliar with the producer, he burst onto the scene in 2012 with his infectious track “Cream” and his 2013 follow ups “No Eyes” and “Wrong.” Since then, he’s set himself apart with his captivating deep house grooves. With the recent release of his EP, The Music Got Me, Claptone continues to dominate the Beatport charts and impress audiences worldwide.

Claptone hits the Main Stage at Mysteryland USA on Saturday, May 23. Tickets are still available over on the festival’s official website, so be sure to pick them up. Until then, get ready for what is sure to be an unforgettable set from the producer by checking out his Essential Mix below.
