Corey James And Teamworx Unleash “Make The Crowd Go”

It looks like Protocol Recordings isn’t entirely free of the sort of “big room bass” tracks that have become a staple of labels like Spinnin’ Records in recent months. The Nicky Romero-headed label has released one such track this week – a collaboration between Corey James and Teamworx titled “Make The Crowd Go.”

Driven by a back-and-forth between a menacing synth lead and testosterone-filled verses by Kobi the Alien, “Make The Crowd Go” straddles the line between progressive house and bass house. Unlike many such tracks that have made their rounds in the festival circuit, however, it manages to not grate on the senses by experimenting with melodies that don’t resolve correctly.

That being said, it’s also not one of Protocol’s stronger releases. Considering that the label has succeeded in putting out music with more class than typical big room house, “Make The Crowd Go” falls short of what we’ve come to expect from the imprint.
