As a disclaimer, let me go on the record saying that in no way do I endorse either Drake or Rihanna… I guess Skrillex is okay though. The bass music mastermind has revealed a mashup of the two artists’ tracks “Hotline Bling” and “Bitch Better Have My Money” that hails back to his stylistic roots.
After all, this is the Skrillex I fell in love with back when he released his debut EP on MySpace. It’s not quite dubstep, not quite electro, and not quite pop music – rather, it draws from all those things, but in a way that only the former From First to Last frontman could manage.
Color me thankful that Skrillex hasn’t lost his touch, and that as jaded as I may be I didn’t automatically put it in the same pile as his Jack Ü releases. I want to hear your opinion of it as well, though, so listen to it above and let me know what you think.
