For anyone who’s had the pleasure of attending Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), you’ll know that there really is no other experience like it. When it comes to putting on a spectacle, few do it like Insomniac does. The size and scale of their flagship festival is staggering, the production and design is dazzling, the music is fantastic, the people couldn’t be friendlier and perhaps, most important of all, the moments and memories that you make there are simply unforgettable.
Now that we’re into February, we’ve reached the halfway mark to this year’s outing of EDC, which just so happens to be the 20th anniversary. And to celebrate, Insomniac and Marquee Dayclub have teamed up once again to throw their annual Halfway to EDC event, which took place this past weekend (February 13-14).
For two days, one of Vegas’ hottest party destinations is transformed into a massive playground, complete with daisy décor, whimsical costumed performers and some of the biggest names in dance music. From noon to sunset, fans danced their hearts away to artists like Andrew Rayel, Dash Berlin, Jauz, Lost Kings, Tritonal, Shaun Frank and many more. Each of the DJs delivered an impressive set, bringing us music from a wide variety of genres that kept people up and moving the whole way through.
With vibrant and colorful decorations, interactive theatrical performers and an unmistakable high-energy moving throughout the 22,000 square foot venue, Insomniac gave us an awfully tantalizing taste of what’s to come in June. And though it obviously can’t compare to the absolute behemoth of an event that is EDC Las Vegas, Marquee Dayclub’s top notch sound and lighting, eight grand cabana lounges and climate controlled dual-heated pools, not to mention a staff who provided impeccable service, still made Halfway to EDC a weekend that we won’t soon forget.
Taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on June 17-19, the wait for EDC Las Vegas truly does seem like a long one, but by whetting our appetite with Halfway to EDC, Insomniac has helped remind us that before we know it, we’ll be back dancing under that magical, electric sky.
