Not too long ago, Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5, made a quick stop in Ibiza to play a wicked 2 hour techno set at Amnesia. Those who were in attendance took to the web to spread their excitement about what they had just heard and it wasn’t long before fans were calling out for the DJ to release the set online.
Well, it looks like the ‘mau5 has listened to his very vocal fanbase, as earlier today Zimmerman uploaded the full thing for our listening pleasure. As expected, it’s pretty heavy and stripped-down, and completely devoid of anything even remotely sing-song, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re into this sort of thing. It’s not often that you get to hear a DJ go this route, but when it happens it’s always nice to see.
While I imagine some people at Amnesia walked away unimpressed that they got a different version of deadmau5 than they were expecting, the vast majority of people should definitely dig what Joel has done here. I know I do.
