Swedish DJ/producer Alesso has no shortage of progressive house hits under his belt, but why not add another to the list? “Sweet Escape,” from his upcoming debut album, features all the hallmarks of the young progressive house artist’s euphoric style, promising to become a festival staple as the season goes full swing.

Stabs of a string section start the track off before even percussive elements can be heard. Saccharine vocals by Sirena make for a strong lead-up to an emphatic synth lead which builds up to a drop designed to make a crowd of a few thousand jump up and down in unison. Alesso’s clearly got the formula down, and while we’re all for breaking the mold, there’s something to be said for doing the same thing as everyone else but better.

His status as a hit maker didn’t happen overnight, however. Alesso was famously mentored by former Swedish House Mafia member and progressive house mastermind Sebastian Ingrosso, who discovered the young producer in 2011 and taught him how to DJ in addition to tightening up his studio process. Tracks like “Calling” and “If I Lose Myself” would follow soon after – the latter of which will also be re-released along with the rest of Forever next week.

Will “Sweet Escape” by Alesso secure a spot in your summer playlist? Give it a listen above and let us know in the comments.
