At this point, it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous. Fans of both deadmau5 and Kaskade were excited to discover that their one-year-in-the-making collaboration, “Beneath With Me,” was finally going to see the light of day earlier in the month. When they’ve put it off so long that you wish they’d go on and get it over with, though, it’s safe to say that they’ve killed the hype.
In a recent interview with Revolt TV, Kaskade mentioned the following:
It is official. It will be coming out very soon. Version 4. Which is very close to version 3. I had some other things that I wanted to tweak on it so I fixed it up, but yeah it’s official.
Really? “Beneath With Me” had to have four different versions come out in the span of a year before Kaskade and deadmau5 could make its release “official?” I get that a collaboration between both artists is a pretty big deal for the electronic music world, but it’s simply hard to convince anyone to care at this point.
Interestingly, deadmau5 echoed our sentiments back when V.3 came out – perhaps indicating some level of tension between the two artists throughout their creative process.
Needless to say, “Beneath With Me V.4” had better be the single greatest music either deadmau5 or Kaskade has put out in recent memory to justify the amount of red tape that’s mired its release. It was already pretty good at V.3, though, so they’ve got their work cut out for them.
