After teasing something big with a mysterious video earlier in the week, Knife Party have finally unveiled their anticipated collaboration with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, breaking the year long silence since the release of their last EP Trigger Warning. Titled “Battle Sirens,” the song was first debuted at Ultra Music Festival earlier in the year, and fans have waited impatiently for the track to drop ever since.

“Battle Sirens” delivers a blend of hard rock and punishing EDM, dominated by Morello’s fiery fretwork and an explosive trap drop complete with squeaky sirens and growling bass. Knife Party’s latest offering recalls their Haunted House era with dark, electrifying productions fit for the festival crowds, and the mashup of rock and electronic elements proves successful as the distorted guitar riffs meld with high octane dance music.

Tom Morello, who spurred the collaboration on when he reached out to the duo, spoke about his excitement over “Battle Sirens” in a recent statement:

“Battle Sirens” is the cross genre hard guitar/hard EDM mash up I’ve been waiting to hear for years. The devastating grooves, monster drops and insane tension that are a hallmark of both Knife Party and RATM are elevated to a crazy level with this jam.

Knife Party prove that their collaboration with Tom Morello was worth the wait, serving up plenty of firepower for the bass leaning dance crowds while satisfying a yearning for hard rock nostalgia thanks to the Rage guitarist.
