Listen To Disclosure’s Remix Of Flume’s “Never Be Like You”

Yesterday, we got confirmation that Flume and Disclosure were working together on a track. We expected it to be a collaboration, and we also expected to have to wait at least another week or two to hear it. As it turns out, however, we were wrong on both counts.

The song dropped earlier today and instead of being a straight up collaboration, it’s actually a Disclosure remix of Flume’s chart-topping track “Never Be Like You,” which features Kai.

Guy and Howard have taken Harley’s tune and sprinkled some gritty, deep house vibes all over it for the remix. While Flume’s version could certainly find its way into a festival set, the Disclosure take is more suited for an after hours club. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it’s definitely got a totally different feel to it.

Of course, the real question is, how does this stack up to Flume’s remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me,” which he did a few years back. In our minds, it’s not quite as good. To be totally honest, it does feel a bit repetitive and the synth stabs don’t really offer very much. Again, it’s not terrible work, but given that we were expecting a mind-blowing original from the two outfits, it is a bit disappointing.

Take a listen to Disclosure‘s remix of Flume’s “Never Be Like You” above and let us know what you think by leaving a comment.
