The official music video for Moves Like Jagger was released today. The summer hit from Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera smashed onto airwaves back in June and has been tearing it up ever since. It’s catchy, upbeat and really, the perfect summer song.
Directed by Jonas Åkerlund and filmed in Los Angeles on July 8th, the video features both the band and Aguilera. As it starts, we’re treated to some archival footage of the man himself, Mick Jagger.
The familiar whistle then starts to kick in and we see Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. The rest of the band is around as well and spliced into the video is additional footage of Mick. Eventually Christina Aguilera comes in to do her thing, before the video comes to a close.
The whole thing is cut together in typical 21st century music video fashion, quick edits and a constant barrage of images. As much as I like the song, I can’t say I’m 100% behind the video. The archival footage of Mick Jagger is a nice touch but aside from that, I’m not a fan.
