Nicki Minaj may have had her fun trolling the Internet with a fake surprise album release announcement back in October, but it seems like she might be gearing up to unveil a new project for real this time.
Posting on social media, Minaj Tweeted out a picture of herself standing in front of a green screen with the caption, “One more month…” accompanied by emojis – one of which being the ever-so-cryptic “zipper on the mouth” face. Granted, it could be for anything, but it wouldn’t be farfetched to believe that it’s part of a photoshoot or maybe even a music video for the rapper’s new era. Regardless, she’s definitely been in the studio working on new material, as producer London On Da Track tells Complex that he worked on music that veered on the side of pop more than rap.
If you remember, Minaj did release a new freestyle song nearly two months ago with “The Pinkprint Freestyle,” and she’s always had a knack for releasing a one-off track to hype up the fact that something new was going to be on deck in the future. Whatever’s going to result from Nicki Minaj’s Tweet will undoubtedly draw attention, but let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’s of the musical variety.
