One of my favorite songs of the summer is David Guetta‘s Lovers on the Sun, which dropped last week and has got a lot of people talking. The EDM/Country crossover clearly takes some cues from Avicii’s Wake Me Up, but it’s still a terrific tune that seamlessly blends catchy electronic vibes with a twangy guitar rhythm.
Today, the track has received a bit of a makeover, as frequent Guetta collaborators Showtek have hopped on board to provide a remix. It’s definitely a departure from the original, and I’m not sure that I love it just yet, but it’s certainly an interesting take on a great song and should play out well on the stage. Plus, I do generally enjoy Showtek’s work, so I’m sure that this one will grow on me.
