DJ/producer duo The Aston Shuffle are one of the more decorated outfits in the Australian dance music scene, and recently, their remix of Avicii’s “Broken Arrows” garnered them an even wider fanbase. Now, it looks as though they’ve used the opportunity to their advantage, as they have released a poignant original in the form of “High With You.”

An example of a more experimental evolution of the future house sound that’s been quietly coalescing among purveyors of the sub genre this year, “High With You” features a uniquely modulated version of the organ synth bass lines popularized by artists like Tchami and Oliver Heldens. Other hallmarks of the style -like pitch-shifted vocal samples and echoey sound effects – anchor it to mainstream accessibility in a way that doesn’t sabotage the risks taken by The Aston Shuffle on other elements of the arrangement.

“High With You” by The Aston Shuffle is out now on Potion Records, but make sure to keep an eye on the outfit in 2016 as they might also be due for another full-length album in the coming months.
