Tomorrowland Brasil 2017 Has Been Cancelled

It looks like Tomorrowland Brasil won't be happening in 2017. ID&T's South American edition of their flagship festival is being reported as cancelled for next year by numerous publications, with economic instability in the area cited as the reason the festival was shelved. Tomorrowland Brasil got its start in 2015, and next year's event would have served as its third annual event, though organizers promise it will resurface in 2018.

It looks like Tomorrowland Brasil won’t be happening in 2017. ID&T’s South American edition of their flagship festival is being reported as cancelled for next year by numerous publications, with economic instability in the area cited as the reason the festival was shelved. Tomorrowland Brasil got its start in 2015, and next year’s event would have served as its third annual outing, though organizers promise it will resurface in 2018.

Despite the assurance that Tomorrowland Brasil’s 2017 cancellation is only a temporary solution, the news doesn’t bode well for the struggling festival brand. Last year we saw the cancellation of the US based TomorrowWorld following up on a disastrous 2015 outing, and some new information seems to hint that the festival won’t be returning in 2017, either.

Atlanta, Georgia’s Imagine Music Festival has revealed the dates for their 2017 event, which coincide exactly with the dates that TomorrowWorld has traditionally been held on. While this doesn’t rule out the festival’s return in total, it’s certainly not looking promising.

Of course, the bankruptcy of SFX Entertainment has been widely reported on, and fans have been left to wonder how this will affect the festival brand moving forward. That being said, Tomorrowland Belgium is gearing up for a major year in 2017, as the event will be spread across two weekends.

Whether Tomorrowland Brasil will be able to make a comeback in 2018 remains to be seen, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that they pull through.
