Vicetone’s “Don’t You Run” Looks To Be A Festival Hit

Once this time of the season kicks off, it can feel like almost every electronic music artist releases tracks with festival season in mind. Dutch duo Vicetone are by no means exempt of this, as their latest track, "Don't You Run," evokes images of pool parties and packed-out festival main stages.

Once this time of the year is under way, it can feel like almost every electronic music artist releases tracks with festival season in mind. Dutch duo Vicetone are by no means exempt from this, as their latest song, “Don’t You Run,” evokes images of pool parties and packed-out festival main stages.

An infectious vocal by Raja Kumari is underscored by a resonant piano melody before a series of claps and light synth work builds up to a subtle peak. A drop with less vigor than what you might expect from a Spinnin’ Records release follows, perhaps making the track more versatile than much of what the Dutch imprint puts out.

Of course, I definitely prefer “Don’t You Run” to Vicetone’s last single: the country-tinged “Bright Side.” For my money, country music and EDM still don’t mix.

After listening to Vicetone‘s “Don’t You Run” featuring Raja Kumari, sound off in the comments section below and let me know if you feel the same way.
