The Weeknd Announces Starboy Pop-Up Shops

Can’t get enough of The Weeknd? We don’t blame you. Luckily, his new album, Starboy, is only a month away, and we’ve got two songs in “Starboy” and “False Alarm” to spin until the speakers blow out. The pop singer is trying to make the wait go by a little quicker, though, as he just announced plans to open Starboy pop-up shops on the weekend of November 4th to the 6th to hype up the record a bit more.

Can’t get enough of The Weeknd? We don’t blame you. Luckily, his new album, Starboy, is only a month away, and we’ve got two songs in the form of “Starboy” and “False Alarm” to spin until the speakers blow out. The pop singer is trying to make the wait go by a little quicker, though, as he just announced plans to open Starboy pop-up shops on the weekend of November 4th to the 6th to hype up the record a bit more.

Sharing a promo poster for the shops on Instagram, the image falls in line with the tone of the overall album campaign so far – dark, dreary, and gritty. Unfortunately, there isn’t any additional information to go off of, so times and locations are currently unknown. However, there’s something about no information that just makes it that much more intriguing. Really though, what everyone wants to know the most is what the heck will actually be in the shops?

Since it’s to promote the new record, you can bet on some Starboy themed merch, but will it take after Kanye West’s pop-up shop and have a bunch of $90 sweatshirts, or be more like Frank Ocean with a completely original magazine that included his new album? Whatever’s going to be at these shops most likely won’t be as great as what Ocean’s had, but if there’s anything to learn from The Weeknd, it’s to expect the unexpected – you can probably expect really long lines, too.
