Chiddy Bang, maybe you’ve heard of them, maybe you haven’t. People who follow hip-hop and rap closely will undoubtedly be familiar with the name but for the more mainstream audience the name still may be foreign. The group specializes in alternative hip hop and is made up of two guys. Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and Noah Beresin aka Xaphoon Jones. Chiddy Bang really only started to become popular in the last year or so and although they haven’t fully broken into the mainstream yet they are still pretty much amazing. The Philly based duo is growing in popularity everyday and some bloggers have gone as far as calling them a “hipster’s wet dream.” Last year they released ‘The Preview’, an EP that earned great reviews and prepared eager fans for the band’s upcoming and highly anticipated album, ‘The Swelly Life’, which will drop this summer.
On Friday March 25th, the award winning feature film The 5th Quarter opens in limited release. It’s the true story of the Abbate family and how the tragic loss of their young son Luke gave the gift of life through a nationwide organ transplant program.
I caught up with Stacy Earl, the musician that sang and composed some of the original songs in the film (including the theme song), via email as she was flying back from the movies premier.

While eagerly anticipating their next album, we decided to get in touch with them and ask them a couple questions about themselves, their music and their careers. Check out the interview below.
Ólöf Arnalds hasn’t been a part of the American music scene for long, and as an Icelandic folk singer, she certainly isn’t that well known. But as Jayson Greene of Pitchfork said, “those that do know about her, ‘pass her around like a secret.’”
