Much like Vision before him, the mere fact that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme is walking around with an Infinity Stone hiding in plain sight has led many to wonder if Strange has found his way onto Joe and Anthony Russo’s fabled kill list. The jury’s still out on that one, mind you, as we fully expect Marvel and director Scott Derrickson to begin work on a Doctor Strange sequel once Infinity War and the so-far untitled Avengers 4 have their time in the sun.

But circling back to the Sorcerer Supreme’s role in the upcoming event movie, and Cumberbatch recently teased what sounds like a pretty wild battle scene in the film. Talking to Empire Magazine, the actor said:

They want me, and specifically what I’ve got hanging around my neck,” he says, referring to the Time Stone the Sorcerer Supreme has. “So a fight ensues, and it gets really fun and really silly very quickly. The scale blows from real-world jeopardy into reality jeopardy, and then unreality jeopardy. It’s very exciting.”

Sounds awesome, eh? And while there are rumors that Strange may turn bad for some of Infinity War, we imagine that once things come to a close, he’ll be standing alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in their fight against Thanos. After all, we already know that he’ll be developing some close bonds with both Spider-Man and Iron Man – which we can’t wait to see.

Beyond that, we’re not sure what else awaits Benedict Cumberbatch’s fan favorite, but we certainly don’t have long left before we find out, as Avengers: Infinity War will be with us on April 27th.
