Majesco has announced that BloodRayne: Betrayal is currently slicing up the PlayStation Network, having been released today. An XBOX Live Arcade release will follow tomorrow.

The titular redheaded bloodsucking main character from the first game (Rayne) has returned with a vengeance, ready to battle and feed in this new two-dimensional side-scroller from WayForward. It promises to deliver over-the-top stylish action with a dose of bloodshed.

Its premise states that the beautiful dhampir Rayne has been recruited by the vampire-hunting Brimstone Society, for just one more mission. Her target is a lavish, yet sinister, ball in a secluded castle with plenty of dark surprises.

With the help of a mysterious friend and the Society itself, she must infiltrate the manor, take out the fiendish horde and stop an evil master plot once and for all.

BloodRayne: Betrayal is an homage to the classic Castlevania games, which can be yours right now for $14.99 on PSN. Its XBOX Live Arcade release tomorrow, brings with it a price tag of 1200 Microsoft Points.
