So it’s official now. And after the leaks earlier today, we now have an official teaser trailer for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling tweeted it tonight due to the sufficient amount of information on the game that has been pouring out lately. It’s just too hard to keep a secret in the gaming world eh? No matter what it will always get out. Honestly, when’s the last time anything was a surprise?
My issue with Modern Warfare 3 is this. How much further can they really take the series? It’s already the ‘must have’ shooter on the market and I really don’t know how much more they can do with it. Won’t it be just more of the same? Call of Duty: Black Ops was a great game but it was really just more of the same. Not much innovation or anything.
And what about Battlefield 3? That game looks like it’s making significant strides in the shooter genre and it looks like it may set the bar very very high. Is that a bar that Modern Warfare 3 can reach? If we’re just getting more of the same will it still have as big an impact on the market when BF 3 is released?
