Speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle, Warren Spector announced that Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is in development for release on the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. The title will correct many of the complaints against the original Epic Mickey and, oddly enough, be some sort of musical.

The sequel will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op gameplay with Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, with the first player taking the role of Mickey. When playing alone Oswald will remain onscreen as an AI controlled “helper” character that uses a remote control that “has the power to command electricity”.

As for what is being fixed, Spector acknowledged that he “made a mistake” by not having audible spoken dialog in the original game and has promised that Epic Mickey 2 will not only feature voice acting but will also be a “musical”, although it’s unclear exactly how this will work during gameplay.

No screenshots or footage from the game was revealed in the report, nor was there any mention of the rumored 3DS spin-off title Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion.
