Big news for Battlefield 3 fans who have been looking for a way to get their hands on the game early. Today, Electronic Arts announced that the start of the Battlefield 3 beta is set to begin on September 29th. It will run through October 10th in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Anyone who bought Medal of Honor‘s Limited Edition will get early access to the beta starting on September 27th. This is an offer which is extended to those who pre-order the game through EA‘s Origin service.

The Battlefield 3 beta will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 with open access to everyone.

On Xbox Live and PSN, all users can download the beta starting on the 29th straight from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PS Store. On PC you can get the beta from the EA Origins store by visiting its demo page.

The beta will feature one map (Operation Metro) and one gameplay mode known as Rush. There will be no limit as to how high you can rank or what you can unlock durning this early trial. Stats will however be wiped clean before the games retail release on October 25th. Luckily, people who play the beta will be able to keep their custom made soldier name for the final game.

Get ready for some early Battlefield 3 action on the 29th. We’ll see you online then.
