Enjoy A Night Of Games And Music At Video Games LIVE At The Arcada Theater

If you know me, or even if you pay close enough attention to what I write about, you know how music is one of my most important aspects when it comes to gaming. So, it shouldn't be a surprise that something like Video Games LIVE, a traveling concert with a focus on video game music, is something I support furiously. This show, however, is special.

If you know me, or even if you pay close enough attention to what I write about, you know how music is one of my most important aspects when it comes to gaming. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that something like Video Games LIVE, a traveling concert with a focus on video game music, is something I support furiously. This show, however, is special.

If you happen to be in the Chicago area, Video Games LIVE is coming to the historic Arcada Theater in St. Charles, IL, which happens to be right in my own backyard, and roughly 45 minutes away from Chicago. It all goes down on March 23, when the show will wheel into town to give its attendants the experience of a lifetime. This is coming from someone who’s seen the show twice, owns both albums, the Blu-ray, and probably a t-shirt around here somewhere.

Two big things make this show a big deal. The first, Video Games LIVE has never played at a venue this small. Typically reserved for arenas upwards of 2500-3000 people, the Arcada seats only 880. This means ticket prices will be low and every seat in the house will be a fantastic spot.

The second reason is my own involvement. I’m proud to say that co-founder and CEO of the show, Tommy Tallarico, has asked me to perform on-stage on the only thing I’m more passionate about than gaming: my guitar. Tommy and myself will take the stage to team up on a song or two, and I’ll have a solo segment of my own. I don’t want to give away what I’ve got planned, but all I’ll say is that it’s awesome, metal, brutal, and a little…Hellish.

The official event page on Facebook is here. Tickets will go up for pre-sale on Video Games LIVE‘s official Facebook page on February 13. I advise you get your tickets quickly. A smaller venue means tickets will go quicker than normal.

I hope you guys will be able to make it. I’ll be certain to make it as special a night for you as it will be for me!

Video Games Live is an immersive concert event featuring music from the greatest video games of all time. Created and produced by industry veteran video game composer Tommy Tallarico; top orchestras and choirs around the world perform along with exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, special fx, solo performers, electronic percussion, live action and unique interactive segments to create an explosive one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.

Special events surround the show, including pre- and post-show activities. Guests will enjoy interactive game demos, prizes, a costume contest, game competitions and the very popular meet-and-greet with top game composers and designers.

The best way to describe Video Games Live? Picture the energy and excitement of a rock concert mixed with the power and emotion of a symphony orchestra and choir combined with the technology, interactivity, incredible visuals and fun that only video games can provide. Completely synchronized cutting-edge video screen visuals, state-of-the-art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments dazzle audiences of all ages – gamers and non-gamers alike.

By the way, if you’re still not convinced, here are a few of my personal favorites to give you a taste of what the show is like.

Castlevania Rock Overture

God Of War

Final Fantasy Piano Medley
