The great thing about games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are that they’re forcing other game developers to really do their best. Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are set to raise the bar so high, that other developers are really forced to give it their all, and do all they can to keep up. And this is exactly what EPIC has done for Gears of War 3.

While once the king of shooters, the Gears of War series while still fantastic games, are not as hot as they used to be. And with Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 both gunning for the king of shooters title, Gears of War 3 is facing tough competition. EPIC knows they have to step it up. And by the looks of things from the Gears of War 3 trailer, it looks like DICE and Infinity Ward may have a new challenger entering the ring.

Due to the platform exclusivity, Gears of War 3 won’t be as big as Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but it may be just as polished, exciting and fun. I personally haven’t been too excited about the game up until now, as I’ve been expecting just a more touched up version of Gears of War 2. But with this new trailer, it really looks like EPIC is going to deliver one hell of a game, and a more than worthy sequel.
