The digital soldiers of tomorrow will have to wait for their next set of battlefields to become ready for action, because Ubisoft has officially announced a short delay for its Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Arctic Strike map pack. It has been given a tentative new release window of “later in July,” after being pushed back due to a need for more polish.

Originally scheduled for release this Tuesday, July 3, the Arctic Strike map pack will be the game’s first major piece of downloadable content. Taking the high-tech soldiers to frigid climates, it promises to offer interesting locations for all-out futuristic warfare.

“We decided to take a small amount of extra time to further polish the content,” an Ubisoft representative told Joystiq. “The pack is planned for release later in July and the exact release date will be announced as soon as possible.”

We’ll let you know when a new release date is announced.

Thanks, Joystiq
