Greater Creators Spotlights Jack Kirby

As we continue to enjoy living in this golden age of superheroes, science fiction and awesome pop culture in general, it's important that we don't forget about the genius minds who got us to this point. And, thankfully, neither have the folks behind the new Machinima series, Greater Creators.

Said web series stars internet sensation and all-around four-color guru Comic Book Girl 19, who aims to educate as well as entertain – and that she does when she kicks things off by shining the spotlight on none other than Jack “The King” Kirby.

For those unfamiliar, Kirby is one of the men we have to thank for Marvel books such as Fantastic Four and The Avengers, in addition to DC fan favorites such as Darkseid, the New Gods and Kamandi, the latter of which is currently being revisited by some of today’s top talents in a twelve-issue run.

I, for one, am grateful to see these folks give credit to where credit is due. Sure, everyone knows the name of Stan Lee, but not as many everyday folks have heard of Kirby, something the debut episode points out. Although this may be a different extreme, I could somewhat draw a parallel between this situation and that of the one involving Batman co-creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

A series synopsis has been provided, which you can check out below:

Class is now in session…but this is a class that everyone will want to join.
