Harry’s Law, which returns for a second season on NBC this fall, is adding to its cast. EW reports that less than a month after eliminating cast members Aml Ameen and Brittany Snow, producer David E. Kelley has decided to add Broadway star Karen Olivo as a regular cast member this fall. Olivo will play an upstart young lawyer hired by Kathy Bates‘s Harry Korn.

Harry’s Law stars Kathy Bates as an unconventional, gun toting defense attorney. The show is the latest from super-producer David E. Kelley who reportedly got the show a second season after NBC passed on his Wonder Woman. Harry’s Law premiered in January of 2011 with surprisingly strong numbers before falling off and landing on the verge of cancellation.

Last month producers announced that regular cast members Brittany Snow and Aml Ameen had been let go in what many believed was a budget cutting maneuver. Producer Kelley claimed that Snow and Ameen had been let go because their roles were not going to be expanded in season two. Snow had played oddbal secretary Jenna while Ameen had played a paralegal named Malcolm.

Both actors have bounced back since the early June pink slips. Brittany Snow was wrapping production on the comedy Petunia co-starring Thora Birch and is currently in production on the feature drama Syrup co-starring rising star Shiloh Fernandez and The Playboy Club star Amber Heard.

As for Aml Ameen the young writer, director, actor has directed himself in an independent drama called The Pick Up due in theaters this fall and is now in production on the action adventure flick Red Tails co-starring Bryan Cranston, Cuba Gooding Jr, and rapper Ne Yo.

Harry’s Law is not the first TV gig for Tony Award winner Karen Olivo. The Broadway star played a scheming and spoiled law student on the CBS drama The Good Wife in 2010. Olivo has also appeared on CBS’s  Criminal Minds: Suspicious Behavior and the NBC cop show Chase. Harry’s Law will be her first time as a full time series regular.

Harry’s Law returns Wednesday, September 21st at 9:00 Pm ET, 8:00 Pm CT on NBC.
