Heroes of Ruin, the co-op fantasy action RPG for the 3DS that we teased last week, has been officially revealed by its publisher Square-Enix. They’ve added some more details to go along with the scarce information that was provided when developer n-Space revealed art for the title on their Facebook page.

The game is set to star “four unlikely heroes” (most-likely those shown in the revealed artwork above,) who battle through randomly generating dungeons, allowing players to “discover new routes each time they play.” It will feature drop-in/drop-out co-operative play for up to four players locally, with connectivity for both StreetPass (which builds a shop with the users’ discovered items,) and SpotPass (which gives away items when players find specific wi-fi hotspots.)

It is scheduled for release in early 2012. For now, you can whet your appetite by checking out the screenshots in the gallery below.
