Unfortunately, PlayStation Network users will not be able to download and play Sine Mora. The innovative shoot ’em up, which was co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, has been officially confirmed as an Xbox LIVE Arcade exclusive. The announcement was made today, through press release means.

Publishing duties will be handled in tandem, by Digital Reality Publishing and Microsoft Game Studios. This leaves little surprise as to why a release on Sony‘s platform has been ruled out.

Sine Mora is described as being an innovative, time-limited shooter, which will revolutionize the classic genre. It’ll feature both story and arcade game play options, along with over sixty different ship/character combinations. Time manipulation devices will aid the player in his or her (assumed) difficult quest.

An official release date and price will be revealed at a later time. We’ll keep you updated when we hear anything.

Digital Reality Publishing announced today that Sine Mora, its long awaited shoot’em up game based on time manipulation set to revolutionize the genre, will be available exclusively on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. (Japan) and Digital Reality (Hungary) and published by Microsoft Studios, Sine Mora is diesel-punk shoot ’em up that provides a unique take on the genre, where time is the ultimate factor. Mixing classic shooter sensibilities with next-gen presentation, Sine Mora is a gorgeous shmup that appeals to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. The engrossing Story Mode weaves an over-the-top tale, while the Arcade Mode provides deep, satisfying gameplay to challenge fans of the genre. Sine Mora features over 60 combinations of planes, characters and time manipulation devices to complete every beautifully-crafted stage with scaling difficulty. All of this is set to an epic score of soaring heights, composed by Akira Yamaoka, acclaimed for his works on the Shadows of the Damned and Silent Hill series.
