limbo PlayDead Is Working On Bringing Limbo To PSN And Steam

It sounds like PlayStation 3 and Steam users will soon be able to experience the surreal (and phenomenal) platforming experience known as Limbo. The incredibly popular XBOX Live Arcade game is confirmed to be undergoing the porting transition, with its small developer, PlayDead handling the workload. All of that, while they’re also working on a new (yet to be announced) intellectual property. Busy guys.

The news doesn’t come as a complete surprise, considering rumors spread yesterday when a Korean Games Ratings Board listing was discovered. It made mention of a new PSN port of the game, with ties to Sony.

Limbo is in production for Steam and PSN, and is coming very soon,” confirmed PlayDead CEO, Dino Patti.

“To be honest, we want as many people to play our games as possible,” Patti told Joystiq last year at the Indiecade festival. “If we end up going exclusive, we may do it for various reasons, but we just want as many people to play the game as possible.”

This is great news for Sony, Valve and their collective customer base. Keep an eye on it and mark the release date on your calendar once it’s announced.
