With all the fresh new videos we got of upcoming games last night at the VGAs, Mass Effect 3 was one that definitely stood out. We got a glimpse of new gameplay, some story elements and what looks like Shepard’s most unique tactic against the impending Reaper invasion yet.

While much of the gameplay shown doesn’t show much we don’t already know about, (besides finally being able to really sprint), the trailer focuses on fighting a massive Reaper that stands in the way of Shepard’s crew and their objective. So what’s a space commander to do? Call in a giant worm, of course!

Mass Effect 3 is slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 6, 2012.

What say you, gamers? Was that Wrex at the beginning of the trailer?

Sorry, the video is currently unavailable.
