The producers of Two and a Half Men have been trying to keep people quiet about spoilers from last week’s first taping of the new season, the first for new star Ashton Kutcher. Despite their best efforts, it didn’t stop TMZ from digging up a few details including how producers decided to kill off Charlie Sheen‘s Charlie Harper.

Though audience members signed agreements not to share details of the taping, someone tipped off TMZ about Charlie Harper’s mode of death. When we last saw Charlie Harper, he’d gone off to Paris with his stalker/neighbor Rose played by Melanie Lynskey.

According to TMZ‘s tipster Charlie and Rose got married while in Paris and then things went bad. Charlie cheated on Rose and she caught him. That led to a confrontation on a subway platform where Rose allegedly pushed Charlie in front of a train leading to what she refers to in a speech at his funeral as a ‘meat explosion.’ The scene implies that Rose intended to kill Charlie and got away with it.

The tip to TMZ confirms previous reports that Charlie Harper’s funeral would be part of the Two and a Half Men season nine premiere. As for new Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher, who is playing internet billionaire Walden Schmidt, another TMZ tipster reports that Kutcher had ‘terrific chemistry’ with co-star Jon Cryer. Kutcher was also interacting with the crowd allegedly sneaking up on one audience member and giving her a shoulder rub.

Charlie Sheen responded to his on-screen demise in a statement released via TMZ stating that he would be throwing a party to celebrate his on-screen funeral:

“I will be watching my fake funeral, attended by my fake ex-girlfriends, from my very, very real movie theater with my very real hotties in tow.”

I’ve never watched an episode of Two and a Half Men but due to the noise surrounding the series season nine premiere and my mostly positive impression of new star Ashton Kutcher, I’m thinking of checking it out. Two and a Half Men returns on Monday, September 19th 2011 on CBS.
