Metal Gear Solid 5 Isn’t Happening But Will At Some Point

Last week when I heard rumors about Hideo Kojima, the master of Metal Gear, talking about making a new game, I knew something was taken out of context. Looks like I was right.

Last week, rumors began to swirl that a Metal Gear Solid 5 was in development. Having noticed the heresay that Hideo Kojima, the mastermind of Metal Gear himself, was going to announce it in a new interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, made me skeptical. Things like this have been taken out of context before. Twice, actually. Once before we learned about Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and again when we learned about Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Looks like my skepticism has won the day again.

In a recently-published interview, Kojima is asked about a Metal Gear Solid 5. His only comment is that, “We’ll have to make it at some point, but what it will be, we have no idea.”

Kojima goes on further to say he wants to try and have as little involvement with the title as possible, besides making Metal Gearheads even more confused.

“As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can’t do again.”

Of course Kojima doesn’t want to work on Metal Gear. He’s supposed to be working on a new Zone of the Enders! Please?! Maybe?!?

What say you, gamers?
