Konami dropped word earlier today that the universally-acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series will be bringing two best-selling titles in its signature tactical espionage action to the PlayStation Vita later this summer. They will be released as part of a new Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

From the mind of Hideo Kojima, comes an updated take on the two formerly-PlayStation 2 exclusive titles, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty  and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Both were outed for an official release during the upcoming summer months. The two titles will expand on the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection brought out last year for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

While the third title in the previous compilation, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, is absent from the upcoming portable collection, in its stead comes a slew of updated content. In addition to a fresh user interface, the two sneaking games will feature touch-screen controls, as well as the data-sharing transfarring system that Hideo Kojima showcased at last year’s E3.
