Remote-controlled vehicle fan groups are jumping for joy right now, as Sony has announced the next entry in the Motorstorm racing series. Entitled, Motorstorm RC, the game will focus on the small-scale toys.

Instead of putting them on regulation sized test tracks, the game will feature regular sized off-road routes. The PlayStation Blog states that its featured locations will range, “from the dusty desert mesas of Monument Valley, to the dangerous jungles of a Pacific island, to the icy tundra at the Arctic Edge, to the apocalyptic ruins of an urban city.” Sounds interesting.

Adding intrigue and interest to this neat-sounding project is the fact that it will be released jointly – on both Vita and PS3. Those who purchase one version will have access to the other, with the opportunity to use the same save files on each version through transfarring. This will make split-screen fans happy considering the fact that the console version will incorporate four-player local multiplayer.

Motorstorm RC is currently in development at Evolution Studios, with an announced spring release window.
