New Marvel Legacy Trailer Teases The Return Of An Icon

For some time now, we’ve been talking about the Marvel Legacy one-shot slated to arrive in comic shops this September and understandably so. Spanning fifty pages, this oversized issue set to be written by Jason Aaron (Mighty Thor) and illustrated by Esad Ribic (Secret Wars) should not only make for a definitive read, but will also set the tone for the next year of story arcs planned by the House of Ideas.

One aspect about this standalone tale that caught our attention is that it’ll reveal the group that essentially served as the first Avengers, whom existed back in 1,000,000 B.C., to be exact. While it’s currently unknown if they’ll come across anyone resembling Raquel Welch, Marvel has released a pretty nifty trailer in the interim in order to get us geeked.

In it, Marvel big wigs Axel Alonso and Tom Brevoort hype the story, with the latter saying on more than one occasion that it’s “an absolute must read,” teasing the return of an icon. Who that may be is currently anybody’s guess, but, like you, we can’t wait to find out.

Additionally, the return of the publisher’s most enduring titles to their original numbering is touched on, something many would rather see as opposed to yet another slew of #1’s hitting stands. Still, it’s recommended that you read the one-shot in question before diving into any of those because, if Brevoort’s hyperbole is to be believed, this could very well be this era’s equivalent of Giant-Size X-Men #1.

Marvel Legacy #1 arrives in comic shops on September 27.
