After two lackluster and laughable movies, Sex and the City has lost a lot of its cool. However, Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred as Carrie Bradshaw in the hit HBO series for all six of its seasons, has allegedly agreed to produce a revival, according to DigitalSpy.

The original series, which ran from 1998 to 2004, followed the lives of Carrie (Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), four successful thirty-somethings who just happened to have a lot of sex. And a lot of brunch.

While the TV show was clever and typically portrayed the women as strong, positive figures, the two films pandered to a post-menopausal audience that just wanted to see pretty shoes and dresses for 90 minutes.

This revival is not linked to the rumors that have been floating around of a Sex and the City prequel, which would star Blake Lively and Selena Gomez, among others.

Hopefully this new show can give Carrie Bradshaw her old reputation back, a smart, funny woman who has all of the answers even when she does get things horribly wrong, instead of an old crow who needs money and shoes to be happy.
