Skyrim’s Dawnguard Sneaks Out For PCs, PS3 Fans Have To Wait A Bit Longer

Surprise! We were just talking about how there hasn’t been any sign of Dawnguard coming out for the PC or PS3 last week, but it seems that Bethesda was just playing with us for a bit. During tonight’s QuakeCon keynote, Bethesda announced that Skyrim’s first expansion was quietly released onto Steam today. While this is great news for PC gamers, PS3 fans have little to celebrate as of yet.

Bethesda stated on their blog that PS3 owners would have to wait just a bit longer before getting their vampire on:

“We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse.”

Considering the absolutely atrocious time players had with the PS3 edition of Skyrim at launch, I can’t fault Bethesda for being extra careful, but this has to feel like a slap in the face after a very long line of insults.

What say you, reader? Should we celebrate them waiting to make sure the game is playable before releasing, or have fans waited long enough?
