World Of Warcraft Explores The Free To Play Structure

Though a large portion of the world's population is already addicted to World of Warcraft, Blizzard is far from content. They're hoping to entice newcomers to enter the large massively multiplayer world, by introducing a new free to play structure that allows gamers to play the game's trial without charge, up until level twenty. It's certainly an interesting idea that seems to be doing quite well at its onset, considering their site is receiving a ton of traffic now that the change has become official.

Though a large portion of the world’s population is already addicted to World of Warcraft, Blizzard is far from content. They’re hoping to entice newcomers to enter the large massively multiplayer world, by introducing a new free to play structure that allows gamers to play the game’s trial without charge, up until level twenty. It’s certainly an interesting idea that seems to be doing quite well at its onset, considering their site is receiving a ton of traffic now that the change has become official.

This was all made possible through the game’s latest update, Rage of the Firelands, which extends the game’s fourteen day free trial. This means that there’s no more finite time limit for newbies who wish to explore the world of Azeroth. The update even allows newcomers to play part of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game’s first expansion, The Burning Crusade. Not all of it is available, but the opportunity to create both Draenei and Blood Elf characters is there.

If you enjoy the experience and decide to upgrade your adventure, it can be done for the low price of $19.99, through the purchase of the digital version of the World of Warcraft Battle Chest. The combination package includes the full game and The Burning Crusade expansion.
