Remember Doc Hollywood? It was a 1993 comedy about a plastic surgeon played by Michael J. Fox who is forced to become a small town doctor after crashing his car in a small southern town. Naturally, Fox’s doc begins to fall for the small town eccentrics and ends up sticking around while falling in love with Lou, played by Julia Warner.

The fact that the new Charlie’s Angels is a cash grab attempting to take advantage of a familiar name and concept is a given. The test of the show and the young actresses that populate it is whether they can make us forget that their enterprise has no true artistic goal but merely a commercial one.

Revenge has a rather complex premise for a television series. The show stars Emily VanCamp as Emily Thorne and Amanda Clark. Emily Thorne is a rich and beautiful young heiress spending her first summer in the Hamptons. Amanda Clark is a former juvenile delinquent whose father was framed and possibly murdered by Emily’s new Hamptons neighbors.

Whenever Comedy Central does a roast, I have so many mixed emotions. Some of these have actually been decently funny, such as the roast of David Hasselhoff, which was also the last roast that the late Greg Giraldo (Rest In Peace) would participate in. Since his death, his presence has been missing, as has much of the humor. Especially after the trainwreck that was Mike “The Situation” from Jersey Shore trying to speak in the roast of Donald Trump, I’ve been wary of these episodes.

With the gripping and dramatic season three cliffhanger, Castle is going to need time and effort to return to the breezy, charming mystery that fans have come to love. That said, with the fan reactions to the season three finale, it’s clear they are ready to follow the series through the drama.
