Tag: Alien: Isolation

Description: Following the critically derided and wholly underwhelming Alien: Colonial Marines, SEGA has been granted a shot at redemption with The Creative Assembly’s anticipated, horror-infused interquel, Alien: Isolation. Set a full fifteen years after the events on board Weyland Corp’s deep space mining ship, The Nostromo, Isolation will centre around one Amanda Ripely — daughter of Ellen — as she sets out in search of the doomed vessel’s flight recorder. Thereafter, her interstellar journey takes her to the Sevastopol, where a sole and deadly Xenomorph has already taken up residence. In kicking the action-oriented gameplay of Colonial Marines to the kerb, The Creative Assembly has opted for a first-person horror experience that is true to the franchise’s core DNA. With full access to over three terabytes of archived cinematic data courtesy of 20th Century Fox, the studio is also painstakingly recreating the retro-futuristic aesthetic we know and love from Ridley Scott’s seminal 1979 film. Furthermore, given that the Xenomorph itself has been programmed to stalk the player in a procedural, wholly unpredictable manner, The Creative Assembly will hope to instil a true sense of terror when players go against the galaxy’s apex predator when the game launches across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on October 7th, 2014.
