Description: Touting a persistent online universe across an almost unprecedented scope, Destiny has been billed as Bungie’s bold first step away from the renown Halo franchise. And while it bears a lot of similarities to its genre-defining fore bearer — the tactile shooting and overall space opera aesthetic — the studio’s all-new IP is set to bring the MMO framework to consoles with aplomb. Taking place 700 years into the future, Destiny will airdrop players into a post-apocalyptic setting. With humanity pushed to the brink of extinction, the remnants of our species have taken refuge in the Traveller, a powerful deity-like body that once allowed the human race to colonise nearby planets. However, with the malevolent Darkness creeping back to the fore, humanity turns to the Guardians — themselves divided into three races: Humans, Awoken and Evo — to defeat the oncoming galactic force and restore peace to the galaxy.
