Left 4 Dead 2 Cold Stream DLC Delayed On Xbox 360

The Cold Stream DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 was announced to be breaking out of beta less than a month ago, with a simultaneous launch on the PC and Xbox 360 planned for today. The PC version has survived this campaign and is currently available on Steam, but the same can not be said for its console cousin who, having yet to appear in the safe house, appears to have fallen to the infected.

The Cold Stream campaign has been available in beta form on the PC for many months and has proven to be incredibly popular even in its unrefined form. Whilst the reasons behind this unfortunate delay have yet to be detailed, the development team have tweeted that they are:

“Working with MS on a release schedule. We don’t have an ETA yet but we hope to have it out soon.”

Having released for free on Steam earlier today, the now belated DLC will cost 560 MS Points ($7) upon its eventual arrival. More than just a map, as it includes a modification to the game’s mutation mode as well as the remaining ports of the original game’s campaigns, this Cold Stream DLC should prove to be worth the money and the wait – though it may be somewhat difficult to survive the latter.
