Ben The Soldier
Poor Ben, the nicest guy ever, yet he continually gets stomped on and beaten down by the Gang – well, specifically Dee. The rest of the Gang is actually pretty nice to the show’s solider, even gifting him a pair of jean shorts when he first returned from the war. They then put on a whole wrestling demonstration just to show their support. Â Yes, they have feathers, but muscles of men.
The rest of the Gang is probably only nice to Ben since they think he’s attempting to screw over Dee. That’s something everyone can get behind. Ben pops up again in The D.E.N.N.I.S. method, finally having enough of Dee being a mean person, and he dumps her, all while wearing the face paint of a lizard. This leads to a reappearance when Dennis and Dee do a podcast. On that podcast Ben informs Dee that he doesn’t like her anymore, and Dee is quite upset.
Ben’s such a genuine nice character, providing such a stark contrast to the Gang. I’d love to see him do something really devious and catch the Gang totally off guard. Perhaps “The War Comes To Paddy’s” or something along those lines. A sinister Ben would be a sharp twist, and it would definitely bring the laughs.
