Adventures Of Supergirl Comic Book Series To Tie Into CBS’ TV Show

If the fact that it was recently given a full season order by CBS wasn't proof enough, look no further than Supergirl getting its own tie-in series for proof that it's going to be sticking around for the long haul. Like Arrow and The Flash before it, DC Comics are launching a digital series which will take place in the world of the TV show.

If the fact that it was recently given a full season order by CBS wasn’t proof enough, look no further than Supergirl getting its own tie-in series for proof that it’s going to be sticking around for the long haul. Like Arrow and The Flash before it, DC Comics are launching a digital series which will take place in the world of the TV show.

Set to be released every other week from January 25th, Adventures of Supergirl is written by Sterling Gates with a rotating team of artists. That impressive team includes Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Emma Vieceli.

The plan is for Adventures of Supergirl to last for 13 chapters before being released as a graphic novel once it’s finished. While it won’t directly tie into the events of the TV show, it will apparently feature the character working alongside the DEO to combat alien threats while maintaining a civilian identity as Kara Danvers at CatCo. Villains like Rampage, Vril Dox and Psi will appear in the digital first series, hopefully setting up live-action debuts down the line.

Those of you who have read the Arrow and The Flash comics will know that they didn’t have a massive impact on their respective shows, but this should still be a pretty fun series for fans of Supergirl to follow along with.
