American Horror Story: Coven Teaser Trailer Debuts

If you're anything like me, you're highly anticipating the return of American Horror Story this fall, this time with the ambiguous subtitle "Coven." If you’re anything like me, you’re highly anticipating the return of American Horror Story this Fall, this time with the ambiguous subtitle “Coven.” Obviously there’s going to be something going on with witches here, but with this show, it’s a bit hard to judge just what they’re going to come up with.

While we count down the last couple of months, FX has dropped the briefest of teasers to whet our appetite for the coming season, so brief in fact, that if you blink, you might miss it. Granted, we don’t see much of anything in it, but what it does do is set the tone with a little bizarre imagery.

This has been one of those shows that’s been hit and miss so far. I didn’t watch the first season when it was airing, but after a few recommendations, I decided to go back and give it a shot. Finding myself quickly hooked, I flew through the season in just a couple of days. It’s rare to find a show that makes you want to come right back and watch several episodes in a row, so on that basis, it was an amazing success, making me yearn for the second season immediately.

That’s where the “miss” part of it comes in. Whereas season one had been fantastic with its great stories and characters, season two was never as gripping and it felt as though the writers just couldn’t come up with good ways to sustain and end the multiple plotlines.

Hopefully season three will be a return to greatness for the series that once showed tremendous promise. Luckily, there’s not too much longer to wait.

American Horror Story: Coven, starring Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Taissa Farmiga, Jamie Brewer, Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe and Kathy Bates, begins airing October 9th.

Check out the short teaser below and let us know what you think in the comments!
