Arrow’s Stephen Amell Postpones Big Announcement

Maybe it's due to how Stephen Amell has established a great rapport with fans on social media, or because Arrow birthed the shared DC TV universe that The CW is able to boast, but the guy has often been given permission to make big announcements regarding what's to come.

Speaking of which, Amell got us all hyped up last week when he said there’d be something to reveal on Monday. But now that Tuesday has arrived, there are those of us who’ve been left scratching our heads because there’s nothing to speak of.

Given that, I headed over to his Twitter page to find that he’s been forced to postpone whatever was to be said. And seeing as how this update has yet to really make its rounds, here’s his quote from a couple days back in full:

“Gotta postpone my announcement tomorrow. Sometimes stuff happens and you have to stand down. Really, really excited to be back in Vancouver and starting S7. Feels like home.”

From that, we can deduce if indeed this had something to do with Arrow, the Powers That Be may have decided to hold off until the presentation to be held at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. Like many of you, I’d been hoping it was something pertaining to the casting of Batwoman, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Still, we must consider the possibility that the announcement had nothing to do with DC, and could be pertaining to something like, say, Code 8, a project that Stephen has been filming with his cousin, Robbie Amell. Conversely, it could be about his Nocking Point business or a charity he supports. Time will tell, but we’re definitely intrigued.

Arrow returns for its seventh season on Monday, October 15 on The CW.
